What is skin lightening?

Skin lightening is a service that helps reduce discoloration of a desired area.

What is the difference between bleaching and lightening?

Bleaching is another way to lighten areas on the body. We chose to offer lightening because bleach can contain harmful ingredients, that can damage the skin as well as create chemical burns for the client. The products that we use in the salon are specifically made for sensitive areas of the body. Individual outcomes can vary depending on skin tone, how pigmented the target area is, and how light the client may want their target area. More than 3 sessions may be needed for clients desired look.

What causes discoloration in certain areas?

Many factors play a part in discoloration. Hormones, deodorant, medications, bacteria, excessive sweating, fragrance, and friction all can cause darkened areas of the body. 

 

What areas of the body can I lighten?

Intimate and sensitive areas such as the vagina, anal, and areola region, along with knees, elbows, inner thighs, underarms, neck, and any other area of the body one may desire.

 

How many sessions will I need?

In order to see your best results, we recommend 3 consecutive treatments every 14 days. Results can vary per client as well as area treated, and also depends on how dedicated one can be with home-care product usage. Home-care is a very important part of your lightening journey. The retail products help really assist in the brightening and peeling process. You will see in the pricing that the first treatment is more expensive than the additional sessions. The reasoning is because your homecare products are included. They are full size products and should last you awhile. If you decide to treat another area with us a later time or even multiple areas at the same time, you will NOT be charged the first-time lightening treatment cost. You will only be charged the touch up cost, due to you already having the homecare products. If you do run out of your products for home use, we will always have them in stock for sale in the salon or on our website!

 

What can I expect at my appointment?

Before booking your appointment, it is best to have a mini consult with us. We will go over goals and expectations, as well as pre book your entire series. Remember, treatments must be every 14 days, in a series of 3 treatments. 

 

This is a 30-45min appointment, and the service will be performed by a professional in a hygienic setting. We will go over the consent form and any questions you may have. The desired area will be cleansed and treated with lightening products, and depending on the client and desired target area, timings will vary of how long product is left on the skin. Some clients may experience peeling, while others may not! Before leaving the salon, you will be educated on the homecare procedure as well as be given your homecare products. As noted above, your first set of homecare products are included in your first treatment series. The reasoning is because your homecare products are included. What should I not do before and after my appointments?

BEFORE:

No waxing or shaving 5-7 days before treatment

Menstrual cycle must have ended at least 5 days before treatment

If you are on antivirals for herpes, meds need to be stopped 3 days before, and can start back up 5 days after the treatment. 

AFTER:

Follow aftercare procedure and use homecare!

No showering for 24 hours

Stay away from strenuous and sexual activities for 72 hours

Stay away from saunas and steam rooms for 72 hours

No shaving and or waxing for 72 hours

Use ice pack that was included in your kit if you experience redness, itchiness or swollen skin

FIRST SESSION:  $200

This includes your first treatment of the series, as well as 2 full size aftercare products. We recommend 3 consecutive treatments every 14 days, but the results will vary per client as well as area treated. This also depends on how dedicated one can be with home-care product usage.

ADDITIONAL SESSIONS:   $85 per session

For all additional treatments in your series after your first initial appointment. If you decide to treat another area with us at later time or even multiple areas at the same time, you will NOT be charged the first-time lightening treatment cost more than once. You will only be charged the "additional session" cost, due to you already having the home-care products. If you do run out of your products for home use, we will always have them in stock for sale in the salon or on our website!
